Pollinator Bio Blitz 2016
Our students participated in the iNaturalist pollinator Bio Blitz during the week of October 7th-14th. During the event iNaturalist members were asked to geo tag and locate pollinators in their communities.
The event was a huge success! There was more than 2,200 observations Documenting more than 400 species, mostly pollinators.

Great Turn Out for Monarch Heroes Night! New Donation Levels and Gifts!
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Monarch Heroes event!
The turnout was more than expected!
Everyone enjoyed the caterpillar races, the arts and crafts activities, the concessions and of course the film!
Hopefully we can do more events like this in the future!
For a limited time
we are introducing some new donation levels! Donations are always accepted, but
if you donate to the Green Academy before October 25 you will receive a unique gift.
For donations less
than $15 you will reach the Amazing Red Harvester Ant level. People who donate
less than $15 will get a Certificate and thank you note from our director and
from the founders of the Green Academy. This card will contain a brief history
of the Academy and a description of the projects your donation will be
supporting.
For donations of
$15 or more you will reach the Magnificent Monarch Heroes level. People who
donate $15 or more will earn a comfortable and extraordinary Monarch Heroes
Backyard shirt. There are limited numbers of shirts and after the 25th the
price could increase!
For donations of
$25 or more you will reach the Tremendous Tree Frog level. People who donate
$25 or more will earn a piece of hand crafted artwork. The artworks feature Texas
native species. They are reproductions of hand pencil sketches that are mounted
on hand made frames, with hand stretched canvas, and have been sealed for
preservation.
For of donations
of $40 or more you will reach the highest level, the Courageous Cougar level. A
donation of $40 or more will earn you both the Monarch Heroes shirt and a piece
of artwork!

relay specifics about your gift. Hurry this offer ends Tuesday October 25th!

Free Family Fun and Free Screening!
Just a reminder Cougar Family:
The Green Academy will be holding a free screen of the film “Flight of the Butterflies” in High Definition!
VIP packages are available!
The event will be held on Friday 10/14/16.Activities begin at 6:15PM and the screening will be at 7. It will be in “The Backyard” of the school.
Guest Monarch experts will be present to answer your pressing questions. We will be selling hand-made kettle corn, juicy Kona Kones, and other beverages. Outside food is welcome. There will be family fun including art and crafts and other activities. We will also be taking orders for the new Backyard shirt Monarch Heroes Edition. There will also be an auction for nature sketches on hand constructed frames and stretched canvas. Bidding will start at $25.
